Kuwait: 2000 flight hours for Eurofighters

With the flight of 8 March 2020, the aircraft Euro Fighter of the Task Group "Typhoon", deployed on the Al Jaber air base, in the mission in Kuwait, have reached 2.000 flight hours in less than 12 months from the beginning of their mandate.

The Task Group Typhoon operates under the IT NCC Air (Italian National Contingent Command Air) Kuwait, established on October 17, 2014 as part of the national operation First Parthica and multinational Inherent Resolve contrast to the DAESH.

The aircraft Euro Fighter, in all operational missions carried out from 26 March 2019 to today, has proven to be an extremely versatile and reliable weapon system.

Thanks to the sophisticated aerotactic reconnaissance pod Reccelite II has made available an impressive amount of very high resolution images of the points of interest requested by the Coalition.

The Task Group also perfected the tactics, techniques and procedures both on the ground and in the air, making, in fact, theEuro Fighter an aerotactic reconnaissance aircraft highly effective in terms of maneuverability, time spent in the area of ​​operations, recovery altitude and transit speed.

The achievement, in addition to representing an important operational contribution provided by the Italian Air Force to the fight against the DAESH, is the result of the commitment and professionalism of the women and men of the Task Group Typhoon and their daily work in all environmental conditions, made possible thanks to the support of all the bodies and departments of the Armed Force involved in the Homeland.

The mission of the TFA-K (Task Force Air-Kuwait) guarantees the synergistic and coordinated use of the deployed assets: the KC-767A aircraft, used to meet the in-flight refueling needs of the Coalition assets and the remotely piloted aircraft Predator and Euro Fighter, employed, however, in ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) activities, aimed at the production of high resolution images and videos.
