Kuwait: 10 thousand flight hours for Predators of the TG Araba Fenice

I Predator, remotely piloted aircraft deployed at the Alì Al Salem air base in Kuwait, have reached the prestigious milestone of 10 thousand hours of flight in the Operating Theater.

The aircraft are supplied to the Araba Fenice Task Group of IT NCC Air / TFA-K (Italian National Contingent Command Air / Task Force Air-Kuwait).

I Predator MQ-9 of the Air Force are engaged in ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) missions and express the ability, constantly recognized by the Coalition Leadership, to scrutinize and monitor the space surrounding the areas of operations and areas at risk, promptly distributing useful information in countering the DAESH.

The Task Group "Araba Fenice" - declared the group commander, cap. Marco R. - is proud to have reached the ambitious milestone of 10 thousand flight hours during the international operation "Inherent Resolve", the result of intense work, without interruption, in over five years of mission in the Operating Theater " .

From an operational point of view, the Task Group's commitment has resulted in more than 700 missions completed, with an average of 15 continuous flight hours per sortie. Since October 2014 TG Araba Fenice staff has been able to "cover" about 8.000 points of interest for the needs of the various Coalition "customers", which have proved essential in the fight against DAESH.

This result comes a few days after the achievement of 50 thousand flight hours by Predator MQ-9 and MQ-1 of the 32nd Stormwhich operating from the Amendola and Sigonella bases are engaged nationally in support of public security operations, guaranteeing an important contribution to the collection of information in the central Mediterranean area and a valuable military collaboration for civil security thanks to specific memoranda of understanding with the Police.
