The Italian military of the West Regional Command of KFOR have created a salon for hairdressers and beauticians inside the premises of the NGO "Jeta" in Decane which will be used to carry out a professional training course for women victims of domestic violence or who find themselves in difficult living conditions.

The project is the result of the cooperation between the Italian Ministry of Defense, which purchased the furnishings and equipment to set up the salon, and the Slovenian Ministry of Defense, which financed the course.

The initiative, which is part of the assistance provided impartially to all communities in Kosovo by KFOR, was carried out by the soldiers of the 5th "Superga" land artillery regiment (rocket launcher) of Portogruaro, at command of Colonel Gianluca Figus.

The "Jeta" association, founded in 2005 to promote the rights and the improvement of the living conditions of women in Kosovo, has provided support over the years, thanks also to KFOR, to over 3000 women of any ethnicity or religion who pay in difficulty, offering them training courses for cook, hairdresser and seamstress.

In recent months, Italian gunners had donated sewing machines, irons and other tailoring tools to the NGO.
