Kosovo: Memorandum for the development of the region presented

Il regional command West hosted the Western Conference during which a was approved Memorandum of Understanding between local authorities and universities to promote the development of the western region of Kosovo. A meeting aimed at promoting sustainable development initiatives in the western region of Kosovo.

The event was attended by 12 mayors of the Italian area of ​​responsibility, representatives of the minorities of the respective territories, rectors and speakers of the Universities of Pejё/Peć, Gjakovё/Djakovica and Prizren/Prizren. 

La Western Conference it was in fact a multi-ethnic initiative, conducted with local representatives of the municipalities in the RC-W area of ​​responsibility, with the presence of all 6 ethnic groups of Kosovo: Albanians, Serbs, Turks, Bosnians, Roma and Gorani.

In particular, with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the signatories undertake to collaborate to identify and implement projects that can promote the growth and well-being of Kosovar communities, to work together to promote the economic and social development of the region and consolidate the future prospects of each municipality. 

In the same direction, in recent months, the Gender Conference, on strengthening the role of women in society, and the Security Conference, in collaboration with the Police Forces, in order to increase coordination with local forces.
