The Italian contingent of the Multinational Battle Group West, based on the "Lancieri di Montebello" regiment, has successfully completed an operational activity north of the Ibar river where the main effort of the KFOR multinational mission is concentrated.

In fact, at the end of July an Italian company was risked in the north of the region, equipped for the first time with the VTLM “Lince”, a tactical vehicle already widely used successfully in Afghanistan and Lebanon for its flexibility features. use and adaptability to different operating environments. The Italian soldiers, flanked by their Moldovan colleagues, carried out patrolling and check points in the most sensitive areas in the north of Kosovo in support of local police forces, contributing to maintaining the climate of general security and freedom of movement. The commander of KFOR, divisional general Salvatore Farina, has repeatedly met our soldiers in action and congratulated himself on the professionalism and impartiality demonstrated. This activity, normal implementation of the so-called concept of Kosovo wide, for which all KFOR units can be used in the entire area of operation, represents a new element for the Multinational Battle Group West, hitherto used mainly in the western sector of the surveillance region of the monastery of Decane and in the control of his own area of responsibility.
