In recent days, the CIMIC (Civilian Military Cooperation) of the Multinational Battle Group West - an Italian-led multinational unit composed of Italians, Slovenes, Austrians and Moldovans - has been involved in various activities in favor of local schools, with the aim of contributing in a positive way to improve the conditions under which the young students of Kosovo will face the school year just begun.
In particular, during the summer vacation period, specialized teams belonging to the GSA (Support Group of Adherence) - the unit to which the logistical support of the Italian contingent in Kosovo is donated - have carried out the disinfection and disinfestation of some educational institutions in the region in Kosovo, including the "Tete Marsi" schools in Peć / Peja, "Haxhi Zeka" in Istok / Istog, "Edmond Xhoxha" in the municipality of Junik and "Haxhi ZEKA" in the village of Zahac / Zahaq. , host more than 3000 children.
Schools are structures where the careful control of every type of pest is essential: these places, hosting the children whose immune system is still under development and consolidation, represent a not negligible critical for public health.
With the start of the school year, various furnishing materials (mainly benches, chairs, desks and wardrobes) were donated to the middle and elementary schools of Peć / Peja and Zahac / Zahaq, and the inauguration of a CIMIC project started some time ago, which allowed the renovation of all the fixtures of the institute of Budisavci / Budisallci (for a total of 45 between doors and windows).
Activities of this type are one of the many projects carried out by the branch CIMIC (Civil and Military Cooperation) of the Italian contingent in Kosovo, currently on the basis 5 ° alpine regiment and commanded by col. Ruggero Cucchini, very important activities because they contribute significantly to the good of the community and to the support of essential services to the population: education, in this case, is an essential foundation for the growth of the country.
