This afternoon KFOR units were used to contain violent demonstrations in the 4 municipalities of northern Kosovo.
During the contrast of the most active fringes of the crowd, several soldiers of the Italian contingent belonging to the 9 Alpine regiment of L'Aquila suffered injuries from trauma and burns due to the explosion of incendiary devices.
Promptly rescued by KFOR medical units, they are currently under observation by medical personnel who are ascertaining their conditions.
The Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, is following the evolution of the situation through the joint operational command and expresses his closeness to the wounded soldiers and their families.
