(To Greater Defense)
26/10/22

The last lowering of the flag for the Slovenian contingent operating in Western Kosovo was held last night at the Regional Command West, which greets the RC-W team to remain operational in the East sector of K-FOR anyway.

In the presence of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Slovenian Defense Brigadier General Uros Paternus, the Slovenian contingent officially concluded its experience at Camp Villaggio Italia.

RC-W commander Colonel Ivano Marotta presided over the farewell ceremony, thanking the Slovenian colleagues for their always loyal and professional cooperation.

Likewise, the commander of the Slovenian contingent in K-FOR, Lieutenant Colonel Faedja Vranicar, expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of Italy and the satisfaction of having cooperated with the RC-W contingents.

After more than 15 years at Camp Villaggio Italia, Slovenia leaves the Regional Command West, while its operational functions have been taken over by the Liaison Monitoring Team Italians, belonging to departments of the "Julia" Alpine Brigade.

Therefore 9 nations contribute to the multinational team of RC-W but the readiness and operational capacity in the western sector of the Kosovar theater remains constant and high.
