Iraq: first "Combat camera" course concluded

The “Praesidium” Task Force has concluded the first “Combat Camera” course in favor of Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army soldiers.

In this context, qualified operators of the Dimonios of the 151st “Sassari” infantry regiment have devised - at the specific request of the local security forces - a course organized in various theoretical-practical modules.

During the different phases of the course, lasting three weeks, the frequenters of the Local Security Forces they have acquired specific technical skills, together with the awareness of the growing importance that images have in modern communication. The purpose of the course was to train local security forces in the use of video-photographic reproduction equipment to be used not only in support of operational communication but also in the context of investigative collection, carried out by the Iraqi Police Forces. , and the classification and discovery of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) o Improvised Explosive Device (IED) by the Iraqi Army.

The "Combat Camera" course is part of a broader educational offer aimed at staff of counter-terrorism forces (Counter Terrorism Service), Iraqi Army, Iraqi Police and Iraqi Power Police of courses in the field of C-IED, First Aid, Urban Fighting and Sharp Shooting, just to mention the most important. The course was conceived and organized by personnel of the Army of the Combat Camera Team of the "Praesidium" Task Force and took place at the advanced base of Mosul Dam. The general phases of use of the technical equipment were followed by an evaluation-practical phase, aimed at appreciating the level of learning of Iraqi students, which saw the full satisfaction of the instructors of the 151st “Sassari” infantry regiment.
