The apostolic nuncio in Lebanon, Monsignor Gabriele Giordano Caccia, received at the base "Millevoi" of Shama by the commander of the western sector, Brigadier General Maurizio Riccò, visited yesterday the Italian contingent of the Joint Task Force Lebanon, on a brigade base "Granatieri of Sardinia ”.

During the visit, the high ecclesiastical authority was able to see for themselves the work done by the national contingent and, on this occasion, conferred the sacrament of confirmation to ten Italian blue helmets.

“It would be nice if, back home, you could answer those who ask you: What did you discover in Lebanon, a place so distant and difficult? I met Jesus once again, where he had already been about two thousand years ago ”. - said Monsignor Gabriele Giordano Caccia during the Eucharistic celebration.

Great participation of the entire national contingent to the Holy Mass and to the celebration of the sacrament of confirmation and strongly felt that of the high religious authority who, on this occasion, wanted to underline the importance of the work of the blue helmets in a complex scenario. as delicate as the Lebanese one and in a particularly delicate period throughout the Middle East, affirming that the work of the Italian military is recognized and appreciated by the local institutions and the Lebanese population.
