It is the first time that the Minister of Foreign Affairs mr. Hoxhaj is received by the commander of KFOR from the beginning of his tenure in September of the 2013.
During the meeting, General Farina was able to illustrate the current operational situation that sees the international troops deployed throughout the territory of Kosovo with particular attention to the northern part where the presence of the Serbian language minority is concentrated.
The general has also emphasized the excellent level of cooperation reached between the multinational forces of KFOR and the Kosovo authorities in many sectors, first and foremost that of security.
"The structures of Kosovo dedicated to the maintenance of security, in collaboration with the international institutions present in the territory and the multinational forces of KFOR, are demonstrating their capacities day by day", he underlined.
"I remember that on the occasion of the recent administrative elections held for the first time in the whole territory, the Kosovo Police showed reliability, preparation, professionalism guaranteeing a peaceful and democratic development of the operations. Cooperation with the multinational forces of KFOR is therefore a very current topic in this historical period: in the near future we will intensify even more the activities aimed at improving coordination between all the actors present on the ground ".
The appointment between the Kosovar foreign minister and the commander of KFOR precedes by a few days the informal meeting that mr. Enver Hoxhaj and the Minister of Kosovo Security Force mr. Agim Çeku will perform at the NATO command in Brussels.
During his visit, the minister also spoke at the session of the Austrian government's Strategic Leadership Course organized at the headquarters of the NATO force in "Film City".
The meeting of General Farina and Kosovo's foreign minister mr. Hoxhaj is part of the broader project of high-level talks involving the commander of KFOR with the representatives of the local institutions of Kosovo and those of the Balkan area.
