16/07/14

Yesterday, the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe (DSACEUR), General Adrian BRADSHAW, visited the military of the Multinational Battle Group West in Kosovo.

During the visit, the deputy commander of the NATO forces went to the base of Camp Sparta, Italian security garrison at the Decane monastery, where, received by the western sector commander, Colonel Angelo Minelli, he followed an operational update briefing .

General Bradshaw then met with the representative of the religious community, Father Sava Janjic, who thanked KFOR and the Italian military for their commitment and security service.

General Bradshaw then continued his visit to the patriarchate of Pec, where, until last September, the Italian and KFOR militants carried out the surveillance service now under the jurisdiction of the Kosovo Police.

The Decane Monastery and the Patriarchate of Pec have been declared a UNESCO heritage site respectively in the 2004 and in the 2006 and represent the cornerstones of the Orthodox Church in Kosovo, which identifies the Serbian minority.
