The Italian contingent in Kosovo delivers life-saving drugs

The final phase of a series of contacts between the Italian soldiers of the KFOR mission and the "Guariamoli" association took place last weekend in Pec / Peja in Kosovo, a network of various non-governmental organizations and "Onlus" dedicates to international health support activities.

Recent activities have allowed the delivery of vital drugs to a young girl suffering from a severe form of chronic leukemia.

As part of its mandate, civilian military cooperation (CIMIC) personnel from the Western sector of Kosovo, led by "Lancieri di Montebello", supports direct links to foster the collaboration of local authorities with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) present on the territory.

Even with these activities health issues are addressed and resolved that guarantee an improvement in the living conditions of the local population.

In supporting the coordination between the Peja organization and the national association "Famiglia Dovuta", the CIMIC cell also guaranteed the international transport of important life-saving medicines found in Italy and handled with military carriers of the Joint Multimodal Operational Unit, unit of the Multinational Battle Group West that takes care of the connections with the motherland.
