To welcome the COMCOI, at the base "Millevoi" of Shama, arrived together with the general of division Luciano Portolano, commander of the UNIFIL mission, it was Brigadier General Stefano Del Col, commander of the west sector.
The high military authority, after having participated in an "operational" briefing on the developments of the mission, met the Italian military. On this occasion, General Bertolini wanted to underline the importance of the work of the blue helmets in a complex and delicate scenario such as the Lebanese one and in a particularly delicate period for the whole Middle East, affirming how the work of the Italian contingent has been recognized deserving of appreciation from the institutions and the Lebanese population.
Subsequently, the commander of the interforces top command operational, visited the tactical operation center (TOC), renewed in dimensions and in the use of new IT supports to approach the subsequent complete digitalization of the command and control tools.
In addition, General Bertolini paid homage to the war flag of the 10 ° transport regiment, logistics unit of the "Pinerolo" brigade, in whose ranks the department moved from the 6 December 2013. The visit ended at the base of Al Mansouri headquarters of ITALBATT currently based on the regiment "Cavalleggeri Guide" (19 °) of Salerno, with assets provided by the 7 ° Bersaglieri regiment of Altamura, where the COMCOI hailed the banner of war unit.
