The ISAF commander visits the Italian base of Herat

- The command of the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC-W) where the Italian contingent operates on the "Garibaldi" bersaglieri brigade base, received the visit of the American general John F. Campbell, commander of the International Security Afghanistan Force (ISAF), the international force operating on Afghan territory, whose headquarters is based in Kabul.

General Campbell, accompanied by the chief of staff of the ISAF mission with the qualification of Italian senior national representative, Vincenzo Santo army corps, was received in Herat by the commander of the TAAC-W general Maurizio Angelo Scardino.

The ISAF commander has been updated on the ongoing activities in the area of ​​responsibility of the TAAC-W and on the evolution of the skills acquired by the Afghan security forces, by now close to assume full responsibility in guaranteeing the security of the country.

On this occasion, the new "Unity of the Country" Conference and Training Center was inaugurated, which will be used for meetings with local civil representatives and for training and consulting activities in favor of the Afghan security forces.
