It ended in the last few days at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) in Hohenfels, Germany, the multinational exercise “Combined Resolve 25”, which involved more than 4000 soldiers from Albania, Armenia, Belgium, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Moldova, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Great Britain, in which the Italian Army participated with personnel and assets of the 4th Tank Regiment.
This year's exercise, in addition to promoting and increasing interoperability between NATO and partner countries, constituted an important test bed for new systems and procedures for the conduct of operations called "transforming in contact".
The Italian component, composed of a company command, a tank platoon Ram and logistical arrangements, during the 10 days of continuous activity characterised by particularly rigid temperatures, in an environment warfighting and to opposing parties, has been the protagonist of numerous offensive and defensive activities of a force on force, using the MILES laser engagement simulation system, to make the training activity as realistic as possible.
The various phases of the exercise allowed us to realistically and concretely verify the effectiveness of the procedures, the level of preparation and the resistance capacity of the individual tank crew members.
“Combined Resolve 25” is part of a multi-year commitment that sees the units of the 4th Tank Regiment participate cyclically in these multinational exercises, aimed at increasing the technical-tactical preparation of the armored units, seeking greater interoperability with the Armies of the Allied Countries and developing the capabilities of the “Junior Leaders” of the Bersaglieri Brigade.
