eFP Latvia: Silver Arrow exercise concluded

The "Silver Arrow", a multinational exercise with opposing parties organized and conducted by the command of the mechanized infantry brigade of the Latvian army, with the aim of certifying the achievement of the full operational capacity of the battle group NATO multinational with Canadian lead.

From 19 to 29 September, about 4.200 units and 1.000 vehicles lined up in the Adazi training area for an activity that involved 17 Alliance countries, engaged in carrying out defensive and offensive activities in a high-intensity combat scenario . Important numbers that demonstrate NATO's deterrence capacity and the will to increase the degree of integration, interoperability and standardization of processes between the different armies that compose it.

The Italian forces, set up on a Bersaglieri "Garibaldi" brigade base, confirmed very high preparation during all phases of the exercise, receiving unanimous appreciation for the professionalism expressed, not only for the maneuvering component, but also in the execution of the logistical activities of supply and maintenance.

The exercise ended on 29 September with the Distinguished Visitors Day (DV-D), where military and civil authorities of the different Alliance countries witnessed a complex tactical event, in which it was possible to synthesize the entire scenario simulated by the forces in the previous days.

 Among the guests, also present the ambassador of Italy to Latvia Alessandro Monti, accompanied by the commander of the Italian contingent ten. with the. Federico Mora, who underlined the importance of the work carried out by Italian soldiers in relations with other NATO member countries.

All operational and training activities conducted by the Italian Armed Forces on the east flank of NATO are arranged by the Chief of Defense Staff Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone and are carried out under the coordination and according to the directives given by the commander of the operational command of interforce forces (COVI) general of the army corps Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.
