General Figliuolo and Ambassador Meucci discussed the state of security in the region and, in particular, the latest events in Kosovo, also in light of the reorganization of the EULEX mission whose mandate was extended by the European Union until June 2016 .
During the meeting, the KFOR commander and the senior diplomat underlined the importance of the collaboration and synergy in place between the NATO and EULEX mission.
KFOR contributes, together with EULEX in their respective third and second responsible roles, to maintaining stability and security in Kosovo, in applying the UN 1244 resolution and subsequent international agreements.
The joint commitment of the two organizations, for the first time both under Italian leadership, contributes decisively to the achievement of the objectives required by the international community and to the creation of the necessary conditions for the development and complete pacification of the area.
