The training activity saw the units of the Battle Group Bulgaria who, within the Novo Selo Training Range where there is an area dedicated to training in urban centers, have operated in close coordination with each other with the final objective linked to the reclamation of a town center from the possible presence of enemy forces .
Again, interoperability in the conduct of operations characterized the entire exercise.
The exercise, divided into 5 phases, saw an initial reconnaissance of the area followed by movement towards the access areas to the village; the isolation of the inhabited center from the possible approach of enemy forces intervening in support and defense; the reclamation of possible threats present inside the village and finally, the consolidation of the troops in the area and the maintenance of control of the same.
Since 17 October 2022, Italy has assumed the role of Framework Nation or the leadership of the mission which sees the involvement of other contingents of the Alliance.
The training activities of the Multinational Battle Group Bulgaria are carried out jointly with the already existing NATO battlegroups in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia and extend along the eastern flank of NATO, from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea.
