“Shaping Armour 25”, an exercise aimed at demonstrating the level of interoperability achieved by the NATO contingents employed in the operation, has concluded forward land forces in Bulgaria.
The trained units used “Ariete” tanks, “Centauro 2” armoured vehicles, “Freccia” medium armoured vehicles, “Dardo” armoured fighting vehicles and Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers alongside the armoured vehicles. Boyevaya Machine Pekhoty Bulgarians, to the Armoured Transporter 80 Model Romanians, North Macedonian Humvees and US infantry fighting vehicles.
The exercise was aimed at increasing the combat capability of the battle group, during the conduct of a maneuver at the level of a multinational, multi-weapon tactical group, based on the 82nd “Turin” infantry regiment, integrated with specialist assets.
The maneuver also included the integration of Raven micro UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) assets, which ensured observation of the "battlefield" and anti-aircraft systems. Stinger for the defense of the tactical command post.
During the exercise, the system of advanced command, control, digitalization and navigation (C2D/N Evo) on board the VBM “Freccia” (in the three versions combat, heavy mortar carrier e anti-tank).
The mobile network dedicated to the management of digitalized platforms has been integrated into the “Imperio” command and control system, allowing commanders at various command levels to plan and send digitalized order packages.
