The Italian paratroopers of the 183rd “Nembo” regiment of the “Folgore” brigade, part of the Kosovo Force (KFOR), recently conducted an activity aimed at increasing patrolling and surveillance on the territory, in support of security and freedom of movement in southern Kosovo.
The operation allowed the units of the Regional Command West to interact with the local population and civil authorities, helping to further strengthen trust in KFOR and reaffirm the impartial presence of Italian soldiers on the territory.
Italy's commitment in Kosovo remains a fundamental element in promoting stability and security in the Western Balkans, in compliance with the mandate established by UN Resolution 1244 of 10 June 1999.
The KFOR Mission is led by Major General Enrico Barduani, who assumed command on 11 October 2024.
