18/12/14

Last Tuesday, in Al Bateen (United Arab Emirates), the handover ceremony of the Task Force Air took place between Colonel Antonio Maria Iannone, outgoing commander, and Colonel Stefano Tessaro, the incoming commander.

At the ceremony, chaired by the air division general Settimo Caputo, chief of staff of the operational command for interforce forces (COI), the Italian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates took part, dott. Giorgio Starace, and the military defense officer, Colonel Vincenzo Romano, together with local authorities.

In thanks to the staff, Colonel Iannone emphasized that "the Air Task Force represents an inter-force model with an aeronautical connotation that since 2002 successfully operates in support of the activities of national contingents engaged in operational theaters in Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa, to which those of Iraq and Kuwait have recently been added ".

At the end of the ceremony, during his speech, General Caputo, representing the commander of the IOC, expressed his deepest appreciation to Colonel Iannone and to the Task Force for the operations achieved, as an example of the excellence of the distant Italian State from national borders, expressly referring to the humanitarian activity in support of the populations of Iraq carried out without notice in August, and to the withdrawal of units and materials from Afghanistan for the closure of the ISAF Mission and the consequent transition to " resolute Support Mission ".

Finally, General Caputo addressed Colonel Tessaro the most sincere wishes so that he can continue the excellent work achieved so far, certain of the support and commitment that the assigned personnel will continue to provide for the achievement of the set objectives.
