Afghanistan: Exhibition, the Art of being a Woman

The second edition of the art exhibition took place at Camp Arena, headquarters of the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC-W), led by the cavalry brigade Pozzuolo del Friuli. Art of being a Woman.

During the event, organized by the national contingent of Herat, made up of soldiers from the Italian Army, Air Force, Navy and Arma dei Carabinieri, works (oil paintings, watercolors, miniatures and ceramics) of 20 local artists are presented, among the such as many fine arts students from the University of Herat.

The exhibition, which attracted a high number of visitors, was inaugurated by Brigadier General Giovanni Parmiggiani, commander of the TAAC-W together with the director of the Women's Affairs Department, Anisa Sarwari.

"An artistic event very much felt by the female community of Herat - underlined the director Sarwari - which is among the most important cultural events in our city ".

"Italy is engaged in Afghanistan as part of the NATO Resolute Support (RS) Mission - added General Parmiggiani - with training, assistance and consultancy activities in favor of the Afghan Institutions and Security Forces and in support of the population as we are witnessing today with this beautiful initiative with the artists of the province of Herat ".

Resolute Support is made up of soldiers from 38 nations, all united in a single purpose, that of contributing to the training, assistance and advice for local Institutions and Security Forces in order to facilitate the conditions for the creation of a rule of law, of credible and transparent institutions and of autonomous and well-equipped Security Forces.
