Afghanistan: Exhibition, the Art of being a Woman

The second edition of the art exhibition took place in Camp Arena, the headquarters of the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC-W), headed by the Pozzuolo del Friuli cavalry brigade. Art of being a Woman.

During the event, curated by the national contingent of Herat, consisting of soldiers of the Italian Army, Air Force, Navy and Arma dei Carabinieri, works are presented (oil paintings, watercolors, miniatures and ceramics) by 20 local artists, among the such as many students in fine arts from the University of Herat.

The exhibition, which recorded a high number of visitors, was inaugurated by Brigadier General Giovanni Parmiggiani, commander of the TAAC-W together with the director of the Women's Affairs Department, Anisa Sarwari.

"An artistic event very much felt by the female community of Herat - underlined director Sarwari - which is among the most important cultural events in our city ".

"Italy is involved in Afghanistan within the NATO Resolute Support Mission (RS) - added General Parmiggiani - with training, assistance and consultancy activities in favor of the Afghan Institutions and Security Forces and in support of the population as we are witnessing today with this beautiful initiative with the artists of the province of Herat ".

Resolute Support is made up of soldiers of 38 nations, all united in a single purpose, that of contributing to training, assistance and advice for the local Institutions and Security Forces in order to facilitate the conditions for the creation of a state of law, credible and transparent institutions and autonomous and well-equipped security forces.
