Afghanistan: security meeting in Badghis

In recent days, the deputy commander of the NATO Resolute Support Mission (RS), general of the army corps (UK) Richard Cripwell, took part in an important meeting with the authorities of the Province of Badghis wanted and organized by the Leadership of the Train Advise Assist Command West of Herat, based on the “Pinerolo” brigade, in close coordination with the Afghan Security Forces and the Governorate of the area. 

The meeting held in the city of Qal'ah-Ye Now developed in two different moments, first with the civil military religious authorities and with a representation of the local tribe elders, then with the Security Forces and the governor.

In particular, during the second meeting, the governor, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Malikzai, highlighted that the security status of the Province of Badghis, located about 120 km north-east of Herat, has improved thanks to the joint efforts of the Security Forces and the support provided to them by the Coalition Forces. In addition, he also provided an update on the progress achieved in the peace and reconciliation process, thanks to the support and collaboration of the local tribe elders, also ensuring that the next elections will be held in a climate of maximum transparency in close coordination with the Forces. local security.

At the end, General Cripwell expressed words of satisfaction for the work of the Governor of the Province of Badghis, appreciating the leadership and good governance, and also thanked the leadership of the Train Advise and Assist Command West for the success of the event thanks to integrated security framework from the various national components in what is technically called Periodic Train Advise Assist (PTAA), that is, an activity performed "at home" in areas distant from the base of Camp Arena - home of the National Contingent - which can not be carried out daily.
