Afghanistan: Camp Arena monument inaugurated which testifies to the mandate of the Aries brigade

The monument created in memory of the mandate carried out by the unit in the mission in Afghanistan was inaugurated today at Camp Arena, headquarters of the Italian contingent of the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC-W), currently under the leadership of the 132nd "Ariete" armored brigade. .

In fact, it is traditional that brigades take turns in the operation Resolute Support at the end of their stay, leave a testimony of their work in the monumental area of ​​the base, located in the square that houses the flags of the countries that make up the TAAC-WEST.

The work, consisting of a chariot track Ram on which a knight's lance is grafted, it well represents the identity and spirit of the Brigade, the only armored reality of the Italian Army with two tank regiments and a cavalry regiment among its ranks. At the foot of the monument a cast depicting the symbol of the brigade was posted, with the motto “Aries fights” carved.

The commander of the TAAC-WEST and of the 132nd "Ariete" armored brigade, Brigadier General Enrico Barduani, on the premise of the unveiling of the work in front of the deployed personnel, wanted to underline the excellent results of the work that was completed in these eight months of mission, during which the men and women of Aries have been able to demonstrate skills and temperament worthy of the glorious past of unity and have performed well in the difficult international context in which the mission was conducted.
