The change in direction of the Administrative Center of Intendency - Joint Forces (CAI-I), the component of the mission in Afghanistan that manages and takes care of the technical-administrative and logistical aspects in support of the operations conducted by the Italian contingent.

Colonel Carmelo Bonomo, after more than six months of intense and fruitful work, has handed over the job to his Parisian colleague Francesco Merola, both from the Air Force.

The turnover took place in an extremely limited form, in compliance with the limitations imposed by the covid-19 emergency.

In greeting the departing officer, the commander of the TAAC-W, Brigadier General Alberto Vezzoli, expressed his thanks for the excellent work done in this period by Colonel Bonomo, highlighting the flattering results obtained by CAI-I in the management of economic and financial resources in a particularly difficult phase such as the current one.

Il Administrative Center of Intendency - Joint Forces (CAI-I) guarantees, with its own work, technical and administrative support to the national contingent deployed in Herat and also provides assistance to the Italian personnel assigned to the mission command Resolute Support in Kabul.

The Italian contribution to the mission has so far enabled the western region of Afghanistan to achieve security and development standards that are among the highest in the country.
