Il Typhoon Task Group of the Italian National Contingent Command Air – Task Force Air Kuwait (IT NCC AIR – TFA K), engaged in the operation Prima Parthica/Inherent Resolve, has reached the milestone of 9000 flight hours.
Colonel Matteo Zuliani, commander of the IT NCC AIR – TFA K, on this occasion thanked the Task Group staff Typhoon for the dedication and professionalism demonstrated in reaching this prestigious milestone and for the recent results achieved in the context of cooperation activities with the Iraqi Air Force, with a view to progressive operational integration between the Coalition partners.
The task group Typhoon It was first deployed in 2019 in Kuwait at Al Jaber Air Base and, starting from 2021, at Al Salem Air Base with F-2000 aircraft. Euro Fighter, advanced fourth-generation multirole fighter in service with the 4th, 36th, 37th and 51st Wings.
The task group fulfills the primary mission of ensuring the international anti-ISIS coalition "information superiority", which is realized in the accurate knowledge of the operational environment, through the collection of high-resolution images for the finalization of ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) products. The task group Typhoon It also ensures air superiority operations and support for surface forces.
The Italian National Contingent Command Air – Task Force Air Kuwait, established on 17 October 2014 and placed under the control – for national aspects – of the Joint Operations Command, is participating in the operation Prima Parthica/Ineherent Resolve as part of the international anti-ISIS coalition.
