Visit of the Undersecretary of State for Defense Dr. Matteo Perego di Cremnago to the realities of the Navy in La Spezia

On Friday 27 January, the visit of the Undersecretary of State for Defense Dr. Matteo Perego of Cremnago took place at the realities of the Navy present in the La Spezia area.

During the visit, the undersecretary had the opportunity to meet the various trade union organizations present in the area, who presented their needs while at the same time appreciating their full availability for discussion.

Continuing inside the naval base and the Military Maritime Arsenal, the undersecretary, for the first time in La Spezia, got to know the varied arsenal realities, focusing his attention on the potential that can be expressed by the work establishment as a whole, for then go to the infrastructures of the San Bartolomeo district, a fundamental starting point for the project of the future National Underwater Pole.

With regard to the project, the undersecretary stated that "The establishment of this Polo aims to enhance, implement and promote the potential and competitiveness of our country in the underwater field", in order to give greater stimulus and the right direction for technological innovation and economic development. "The Navy of La Spezia" concludes the undersecretary “it is a strategic military and civil reality that is an integral part of the territory; the meeting with the local trade union organizations represented an important moment to listen and share the best lines of action in order to redevelop this structure with a vision and planning in the synergistic interest of the Navy and the City".
