From the initial training period at the Academy, young officers participate in practical activities to familiarize themselves with naval maneuvers. A significant example is represented by TIRMA and TIRNEMA, respectively the Maneuver training and the Manovra Summer Naval Internship, carried out on board smaller units.
During these precious training moments, young ship's officers have the opportunity to progressively develop the skills necessary to lead naval units safely, they begin to analyse the meteorological elements and the contingent circumstances of the moment, progressively gaining experience in the field.
The MARICODRAG command has made available to the students of the Naval Academy the ship Lipsticks , MEN 216, together with their crews, to train young attendees on the principles of seamanship. This aspect is of fundamental importance in the training path, allowing Officers to build, brick by brick, a solid set of skills that can be used throughout their professional career.
The activities carried out during TIRMA and TIRNEMA also allow for the consolidation of the training activities carried out by the officer cadets at the Bridge Simulator of the Naval Academy, in a well-rounded training program that alternates theoretical learning with practical experiences at sea.
