In Taranto 385 Volunteers in firm fixed annual (VFP1) swear loyalty to the Italian Republic

For the 385 young people who took an oath of allegiance to the Italian Republic yesterday, it was a moment full of emotion and satisfaction.

Under the proud gaze of the numerous relatives who attended the NCO School of the Navy of Taranto, they swore in the presence of the commander of the Navy Schools, division admiral Alberto Bianchi, and the civil, religious and military authorities who intervened to attend the ritual "I swear ", solemn moment of the ceremony to seal the official entry into the great family of the Navy.

The VFP1 of the 3rd incorporation 2018 have chosen, for their course, the name "Pharus" (lighthouse), to symbolize the right course to follow for the course and the motto "donec ad metam" (to the goal), inspired by duties deriving from military status.

Rear Admiral Lorenzo Rastelli, commander of the Training Institute, underlined "the main objective of the school is to form honest citizens, morally upright, firmly anchored to the fundamental values ​​of fidelity, discipline, honor, respect, solidarity and love of country","only personnel trained with these values, well motivated and trained can actively and effectively operate at the service of the community".

After the Oath, the volunteers belonging to the "Nocchieri di Porto" category will attend the two-week specialization course in "Service Defense Installations" at Mariscuola Taranto, or the "Master of Kitchen and Canteen" course, lasting four weeks.

Volunteers in the "Sailors" category will also stay at the Institute for another four weeks, to complete their basic training, before embarking on the ships of the Navy.
