Central Mediterranean, August 18, 2021 - On board Nave Etna the students of the First Class of the Petty Officer School of Taranto have reached one of the most anticipated goals of their training: at sunset off Augusta, after having gathered for a whole day , have given life to their Corso, a cohesive and compact array under a single name: ZEUS.

Zeus represents the concepts of self-mastery, control, power and justice but, above all, knowing how to overcome the differences within a group by making each component better. With this meaning, this name is chosen by the First Class, ready to face together and with determination, every obstacle that stands before it, without ever abandoning anyone, as Zeus did with his brothers in Greek mythology.

The motto Nihil difficile volenti, “Nothing is difficult for those who want”, highlights the ardor, courage and resilience, qualities that guided Zeus in rebelling against his father and which, today, represent fundamental virtues for the newborn Corsican. Gathered in a historical period characterized by the pandemic scenario caused by Covid-19, the students of the 23rd Marshals Normal Course, faced every challenge with strength, completing a challenging year.

The values that inspired the name of the newborn Corso fuel the flame of the courage and spirit of union of the students in the bed of seafaring traditions, typical of the path that forged future sea professionals in the spirit and body.
