Durand de la Penne Ship Harness for the 2014 Education Campaign

Yesterday, on board the destroyer Durand de la Penne, moored at the Capitaneria dock in Livorno, the ceremony of the beginning of the education campaign for the students of the naval academy took place, in the presence of the commander of the navy schools, admiral of team Gerald Talarico.

The 91 students of normal courses, including 13 women and 4 foreign tourists (coming from Montenegro, Peru and Jordan), under the command of captain of Corvette Alessandro Trivisonne, will learn the principles of naval art, life on board and narrow contact with the sea.

For the first time the destroyer Durand de la Penne, under the command of the navy captain Ostilio De Majo, is engaged in carrying out this important training activity in favor of future naval officers and will touch the ports of Barcelona (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal) ), London (Great Britain), Malaga (Spain), and then return to Taranto the next 30 in August.

The campaign will allow students to broaden their views, knowledge and gain experience through visits to foreign countries and contact with peoples of different history and culture, as well as with colleagues from other marinas.
