The Navy has always been engaged in activities aimed at spreading knowledge of activities that have to do with the maritime environment and that bring people closer to the sea and to the disciplines in which the sea is the protagonist. With this initiative, the Armed Forces offers young people the opportunity to participate, in institutes dedicated to the preparation and growth of young people, in activities for approaching and learning the sport of sailing. A discipline which, due to its ability to enhance the spirit of adventure, initiative and quick decisions, the sense of responsibility towards the boat and partners, courage, learning about life in the community, the sense of challenge and confrontation with the external environment, represents one of the basic elements of the training of sailors.

The collaboration between the Navy and the department for youth policies and the universal civil service allows young students to have a sporting experience which is also an opportunity for personal growth achieved in environments where the principles of "homeland and honor" are basis of any educational action.
