Renewed the cooperation agreement between the Navy Hydrographic Institute and the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office

The renewal of the cooperation agreement between the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy (IIM) and the Hydrographic Office of the United Kingdom (UKHO) was signed yesterday in Genoa for the exchange of cartographic products, information and hydro-oceanographic data and the sharing know-how in the hydrographic field and associated disciplines.

The meeting between the directors was also an opportunity for a useful discussion on the current problems and future challenges of the sector, related to the environment, Blue Economy and the ever-increasing speed with which product updates are made available to meet user requests and guarantee excellent service for the community.

For the director of the UKHO it was also an opportunity to visit the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy and appreciate the works and activities carried out there, in particular what has been ensured up to now in the field of modernization and automation of the production processes of cartography and nautical documentation. .

In taking their leave, the directors renewed their intention to maintain an ever deeper bond between their respective Institutes in order to involve the areas of personnel training, process innovation and data management in view of future collaborations.
