On Sunday 2 December, the Gorgona Coastal Transport Motorbike of the Italian Navy returned to the port of La Spezia at the end of its participation in the Operation Safe Sea (formerly Nauras). The ship, included in Task Group 425.03, from 12 July to 24 November 2018 provided support for the restoration and maintenance of the Libyan Navy Coast Guard (LNCG) vehicles, carrying out capacity building activities.
Leaving Tripoli last November 24, Nave Gorgona made a technical stop in the naval base of Augusta. Saturday 1 December, while sailing from Augusta to La Spezia in the waters off Livorno, the commander in chief of the naval team, team admiral Donato Marzano, from the Duilio ship, went on board the ship to greet the return of the crew, which was engaged in the operating theater for 135 days.
