The pre-direction course for officers of the Naval Engineers ends at the Aeronaval Training Center

In the three weeks of training at the Aeronaval Training Center, the future Chief Engineers were able to meet with the instructors of Maricentadd and had the opportunity to dialogue with the representatives of the technical sections of the various operational and logistic commands of the Armed Force. After the welcome ritual of the admiral commander of the Center and the director of the Ship System Service, all the officers immediately began the cycle of conferences, tailored to the various units on which they will be assigned.

It was an important training moment in which it was possible to establish an effective exchange of information and knowledge with a twofold objective: on the one hand that of expanding and consolidating the already vast technical-professional background acquired both during the Naval Engineering studies and during previous on-board assignments; on the other hand, that of increasing the managerial and leadership skills that are essential for the head of the Ship System Service of a UN.

The naval engineering officer, as chief engineer, in fact covers both the minor and major units, the fundamental role of guarantor of the maintenance of the efficiency and operational readiness of the naval instrument. Nonetheless, thanks to his in-depth technical training, his peculiar abilities such as leader for the staff e problem solver represents one of the pillars in the chain of aid and support to the commander.

At the end of this first common training period, each officer will deepen his skills on the various automation systems of the various naval units following further specific training modules always at the Aeronaval Training Center, at the end of which he will finally be ready to fill the most prestigious position that an officer of the Naval Engineers can hold on board: the machine director.
