In the historic Piazza d'Armi of the Officers' School of Taranto last February 1st, 25 student marshals of the first 3 classes of the 23rd and 24th normal course were awarded the traditional badges of merit.

Every year the students who have obtained an excellent and exemplary performance in their studies and discipline, in sailing, sporting and seafaring activities receive, in an exciting public assembly, the applause of the admiral commander of the Officers' School.

"Commitment, will and determination are the basis of every personal success – said Admiral Francesco Milazzo during the ceremony - The constancy you have had in pursuing your goals makes you worthy people to wear this badge of merit, becoming an example for all your companions and colleagues".

The marshals course is open to young people in service or not yet in service with the Navy and allows you to enter the Armed Forces in the role of non-commissioned officers, after having followed a two-year course plus a one-year application that allows you to graduate from the University of Studies in Bari in "Science and management of maritime activities" or in "Information technology and digital communication", in "Nursing" or, from the next Academic Year 23/24, the degree in "Industrial engineering and naval systems" with the Polytechnic of Bari.

A great variety of jobs will be possible once the course has been successfully completed and range from computer science to nursing, from the operational sector to the electro-technical sector, from the aircraft technician to the naval engine technician.

Commitment, perseverance, discipline and healthy competition are just some of the main elements that are evaluated daily in the training course of the student marshal during the course at Mariscuola Taranto.

The origins of Mariscuola Taranto are linked to the post-armistice period, when the Navy started the reconstruction of the Armed Forces in southern Italy, already liberated by the allies. The maritime military crew corps was thus made official by Article 1 of the Order Sheet n. 31 of 7 May 1947 which stated: "with the date of May XNUMX, the CEMM Ordinary Courses Command was established", an act with which it is customary to trace the birth of the NCO schools of the Navy.

Stay in touch, soon the doors of the Navy will open with new enlistment possibilities!
