The training path of a Navy diver student must necessarily embrace every type of scenario, in order to best train the regular course attendees for any underwater operation.
Knowing how to manage conditions such as cold, darkness, salt and fresh water are just some of the skills that are stimulated during the aforementioned process and, precisely in the context of fresh water, the Diving School COMSUBIN conducted an exercise in Riva del Garda from 9 to 27 September, using self-contained air breathing apparatus, surface-fed underwater equipment and semi-closed oxygen-mixed and closed-circuit breathing apparatus (ideal for approaching explosive devices thanks to their low acoustic and magnetic signature), in unique morphological characteristics such as slopes with sudden changes in altitude, poor visibility, variable seabed nature and cold waters.
The activity was made possible thanks to the precious hospitality provided by the Municipality of Riva del Garda and the fundamental support of the local diving group, who provided essential logistical support for the success of the complex training process at the San Nicolò marina.
This collaboration also allowed for events to be held for the benefit of the population, including some informative conferences, practical demonstrations with traditional diving suits and events to introduce more than forty children to the world of scuba diving, which provided the backdrop to the period spent on the shores of Lake Garda.
