On September 19th there was a significant initiative linked to the memory of Lieutenant Pietro Stipa, a young Navy diver originally from Talamone (GR) who recently passed away in a tragic nautical accident.
A marble sculpture has been placed on the seabed of Monte Argentario, part of a larger project by the “Casa dei Pesci”, a non-profit association dedicated to the culture and defense of the marine environment and fish repopulation, which among many initiatives has given rise to the creation of an underwater museum which from today also includes the commemorative sculpture dedicated to the late Pietro.
The ceremony was attended by Rear Admiral Stefano Frumento, commander of Comsubin, and a delegation from the operating group divers, as a living reminder and to honor the memory of the young officer who left a tangible mark in his brief tenure in one of the Armed Forces' top specialist components.
