Over 2500 migrants rescued in less than 24 hours from the MM

All the navy ships included in the inter-naval naval device Mare Nostrum have been working to rescue 17 boats from migrants from the coasts of North Africa since yesterday helping over 2500 migrants, a temporary number.

The amphibious ship San Giorgio intervened in assistance to 5 vessels embarking 998 migrants including 214 women and minor 157.

The Orione patrol boat in three relief events, the last of which is still in progress, has transferred from vessels in difficulty over migrant 400, a number that is not yet definitive.

The scirocco frigate in three recovery operations has embarked on 206 migrants and transferred other 94 to the merchant ship Glory Tellus (Panamanian flag)

The Sphinx corvette rescued and rescued 113 migrants aboard a rubber boat yesterday and started another SAR (Search and Rescue) intervention against another boat with over 200 migrants on board a few minutes ago.
