Ship Virginio Fasan: the campaign in North America has started

Ship Virginio Fasan arrived in Canada. The naval unit, second of the frigates in the class Bergamini and first in ASW (Anti Submarine Warfare) configuration, with the arrival in Quebec City (Canada) it officially kicked off its campaign in North America.

Ship left on 20 April from the port of La Spezia Fasan after an initial technical stop at Ponte Delgada (Portugal) - where she received on board the visit of the Honorary Consul of Italy in the Azores Islands Thomas Rizzo - she crossed the Atlantic Ocean heading for Canada.

The stops in these days of the ship in the port of Quebec City and in that of Halifax - scheduled for next week - represent an important moment dedicated to reinforcing the solid cooperation with the Royal Canadian Navy, with which the Navy maintains relations both on the bilateral plan and within the framework of alliances, and to promote the country system overseas.

La The roadmap drawn up for this campaign, it also foresees for the Fasan other stops in the United States of America (New York; Norfolk; Boston) and subsequently its participation in training moments.

The frigate, during these months of campaign in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, thanks to the international exercises in which it will take part, will increase its level of interoperability and interchangeability with the allied navies.

Ship Fasan, will return to Italy at the end of July.
