Ship Vespucci he stopped in the port of La Goulette, near Tunis, from 12 to 14 July, making the first international stop of the training campaign for the students of the 1st class of the Naval Academy of Livorno.

To reach the Tunisian capital, the unit sailed through the Strait of Sicily, offering future officers the opportunity to train themselves in seafaring maneuvers: living in such close contact with the forces of nature represents a moment of growth through which they can reach and exceed their limits, tempering the character.

Among the institutional events scheduled, there was an exchange of visits between cadets: our 1st class students were invited to the Tunisian Academy in Bizerte, while the Tunisian cadets had the opportunity to visit Nave Vespucci. This has fostered mutual knowledge between new generations of officers and increased their personal and cultural baggage.

In the reception on board organized on the evening of arrival, in favor of the local civil and military authorities and the Italian community in Tunisia, the guests appreciated the attention to detail in visiting the areas outside, appreciating the tricolor tree-lined.

There was no lack of space for cultural activities: the students, in fact, went to visit the picturesque town of Sidi Bou Said and the ruins of the Phoenician city of Carthage, and were able to admire Tunisian historical and artistic beauties.

Getting to know a country and its places, coming into contact with its culture and tradition, are an indispensable source of enrichment of the professional background of future Navy officers.
