Nave San Giusto leaves the port of Split

It ended on Saturday for Nave San Giusto the second stage of the education campaign in favor of the pupil marshals of the Officers' School. A four-day stop in Croatia, from 04 to 08 August, which saw the unit and its crew join the local population in the celebrations relating to the national holiday for Victory Day and Thanksgiving to the Fatherland.

On 04 August, shortly after its berth at the naval base in Split, Nave San Giusto it received visits from the major civil and military local authorities on board. Among the guests the consul general of Italy in Rijeka Davide Bradanini, the mayor of Split Ivica Puljak and the representative of the Split-Dalmatian Region Ana Bulicic KRESPI, accompanied by the local press who took the opportunity to collect interviews and opinions about this special event.

Also significant was the greeting that, in the afternoon, a part of the Italian community in Split wished to extend to the ship. In the presence of the consul and accompanied by the commander of the vessel captain Antonio Giuseppe Palombella, the community had the opportunity to visit the ship admiring its details.

The men and women of the Officers' School of Taranto, in addition to the numerous activities in which they took part during the navigation from Trieste to Split, they were able to touch the importance of these moments of encounter between the Navy and international realities, moments that will also contribute to increasing and consolidate their training. As a last meeting with the local community, on Sunday 07 August, the military chaplain Don Marius celebrated Holy Mass at the Monastery of San Francesco, at the foot of the Marjan hill. The students who took part in it animated the liturgy and songs, mixing with the local culture.

The ship's crew San Giusto is now preparing a new route to the warm waters of Tunis, which it will arrive on August 19, and which will mark the third stage of the education campaign.
