San Giusto ship engaged in the rescue of a boat

An EH101 helicopter from the Mare Nostrum air-naval device took off from the amphibious vessel San Giusto, at about 11.40, identified a rubber-boat with about 100 migrants aboard South-East of Lampedusa.

Nave San Giusto has intervened which, having ascertained the absence of safety equipment, declared the emergency situation at around 12.30 and is currently involved in the rescue.
