Nave Bergamini receives on board the midshipmen of the Naval Academy and the National Sailors' Association of Italy

Tuesday 9 August, the frigate Carlo Bergamini belonging to the second naval division, he left the moorings from the port of Taranto with on board the midshipmen who attended the 1st Year Application Courses (ACA) of the Naval Academy and the National Italian Sailors Association of Taranto to participate in hot shooting exercises and technical tests on on-board systems.

Ship Bergamini, once out of the obstructions, she was reached by an SH-90 helicopter, which departed from the Grottaglie base. with which tests of the communication and data exchange systems have been carried out.

Once offshore, the unit carried out a hot shooting exercise with the artillery systems on board (127/64 LW and 76/62 SR DF), weapons systems of great versatility and effectiveness, as well as peculiarities of the FREMM General Purpose (GP).

In the afternoon, it was the turn of the helm damage and man overboard recovery exercises in favor of the young officers visiting on board, allowing them to put into practice the theoretical notions learned in the Naval Academy and at the Naval Maneuvering Simulator (SINAM) of the command of the second naval division.

During the day, the group of the National Sailors of Italy of Taranto also witnessed the maneuvers from the bridge. 

The experience at sea aboard a ship Bergamini it was a precious opportunity for the visitors of the 1st ACA of the Naval Academy, especially in view of the future embarkation on board the ships of the naval team. "The activity carried out at sea was a real demonstration of the operational capabilities of the Navy ships. We had the opportunity to confront the crew and see the reality of a 'gray' ship up close, in the complexity of the its various organizational and managerial aspects. It was a very profitable training opportunity that allowed to increase the professional and human knowledge of each officer of the Spartani course present on board ", so the ensign Jerry Francavilla.

The activity coordinated by the second naval division allowed the young officers, future captains, to understand the capabilities of this type of ships, as well as the professionalism, flexibility and dedication required of the crew; aspects that have always been common to the crews and ships of the Italian Navy.
