The multipurpose research unit Alliance she left on May 21st from La Spezia and is sailing towards the Arctic Ocean. The port of destination is the Norwegian port of Tromsø.
The ship will conduct two scientific missions in the coming months: Nordic Recognized Enviromen-tal Picture 22 (NREP22) conducted by the Science and Technology Organization - Center for Maritime Research and Experimentation (STO-CMRE), and High North22 led by the Italian Navy, has the purpose of carrying out research through mapping, sampling, analysis and observation activities, to increase knowledge of the Arctic area, study the changes that have occurred in recent years, the evolution of the climate and the state of health of our planet.
At the end of the ship activities Alliance will return to Italy. The return to La Spezia is scheduled for August.
