Mare Nostrum, 2.053 migrants rescued at the weekend

2053 are the migrants rescued at the weekend by navy ships engaged in the Mare Nostrum operation. The operations also included patrol boats and the Dattilo ship of the harbor authorities.

The Borsini patrol boat yesterday in the port of Pozzallo has landed 166 migrants, including 14 women and minor 34. The Fasan frigate landed yesterday in the port of Augusta 198 migrants including 24 women and minor 61.

This morning the amphibious ship San Giusto in Reggio Calabria has landed 1689 migrants rescued in recent days by the corvette Urania.
