From 24 to 31 October, the employee Diving School organized for the students of the diving course 2020, in full compliance with anti-Covid regulations, a "hot" shooting range with the use of explosives. Housed at the Furbara airport, home of the 17th Incursori wing of the Italian Air Force, they were able to carry out a very complex training of its kind, in order to acquire basic skills in the EOD (ExplosiveOrdnanceDisposal) field.

The students were thus able to really try the many and different techniques of destroying conventional bombs, creating particular detonating electrical circuits and techniques loworderfor their neutralization. This training is essential and has very specific purposes: in fact, those who reach the blue Basque area will receive the qualification to be able to operate, in the maritime field, in the field of explosive ordnance clearance throughout the national territory.

It is the first year that a diving course has carried out an explosives range outside the Varignano base, where they usually train; the activity made it possible to better understand in which and in how many situations they could find themselves operating in their future employment, making each scenario extremely realistic and also creating an excellent synergy and collaboration in the inter-force field.

The neutralization and destruction of orders are priority tasks of the Diving Operations Group: just think that between 2018 and 2019, 115.000 bombs were defused in the Italian seas and lakes.
