The Navy participated in the recovery operations of Italian and foreign passengers on board the "Diamond Princess" ship docked in the port of Yokohama, sending its own medical personnel.

The medical lieutenants Riccardo Graziosetto and Alessandro Alcibiade and the head of 1st class nurse Leopoldo Formisano collaborated with the bio-containment health team of the Air Force, coordinated by medical colonel Marco Lastilla, who starting from the Pratica di Mare has reached Tokyo.

There were already specialists from the Army and the Spallanzani Hospital sent to perform laboratory tests on compatriots and Europeans to be repatriated.

Once the negativity of Coronavirus infection was ascertained, the device set up by the Country System returned to Italy where all were subjected to the required checks and sent to the facilities of the military city of Cecchignola for the planned observation period.
