For the Navy two gold medals in the dives

12/03/14

Last weekend in Trieste the Coppa Rio diving tournament was staged, in which the competitive team of the Navy Sports Center, with the 3 ^ class sub-director Michele Benedetti and Tommaso Rinaldi, brought home two medals of gold respectively in the 3 trampoline meters and in synchronized dives.

In this season Benedetti is the only one to have repeatedly broken the 430 points barrier, and in this tournament, he gave the silver medal 45 points of detachment. In fifth and sixth place, the sub-director Tommaso Rinaldi and the sub-head of 1 class Tommaso Marconi, far from the podium due to some mistakes during the race.

The common Gabriele Auber, also a runner-up in the three-meter springboard, is growing, placing eighth and improving on his previous performance of over 20 points.

In the final from the 1 springboard metro Benedetti, after a splendid preliminary competition, had to settle for fourth place, accusing a little of the fatigue accumulated in the races of the previous day. A pity because the gold medal was largely within his reach!

The team will resume training in view of the most important appointment of the winter season: the Italian Indoor Absolute Championships in Turin, in April.
